Best Cities for Young Professionals

young-business-professional Forbes.com recently combined a variety of factors to determine the top 40 cities in the United States for young professionals. The factors included where graduates of elite universities like Duke, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern and Rice had settled 10 years after graduation. Graduates were excluded if they settled in the state of their university. In other words, Forbes.com tried to find the cities that attracted college graduates enough to move and settle across state lines. The number of prized job openings in each city were included as another factor. Forbes.com also calculated the ratio of average starting salary in each city to cost of living. Finally, the number of young unmarried people in each city was considered in order to find areas that offered an active social life when young professionals aren’t working.
