Every year, Columbus Day is celebrated on the second Monday of October in recognition of Christopher Columbus’s arrival to the Americas on October 12, 1492. Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer in the late 1400s and early 1500s. In his famous Columbus Day expedition, Christopher Columbus sailed across the Atlantic Ocean with a crew of 90 men in search of a trade route to India. Columbus took on the dangerous yet exciting and rewarding adventure of exploring the unknown. This Columbus Day, take some time to do your own exploring.
