Military Careers

Want to "be all that you can be?" A career in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines or Navy might prove rewarding.

In addition to combat positions, you can find out what it takes to become a dental specialist in the Army or an air traffic controller for the Air Force. Armed Forces Careers discusses the benefits of military life, like college tuition, travel and job training. Salary is another important consideration. CareerAdvisor.com lists basic monthly pay for everyone from commissioned officers ($1,636 - $3,449) to recruits ($854). The site also has information on retirement, education and veterans’ benefits.

Army

The Army Recruiting site gives visitors information about enlistment bonuses and options. You can also follow 6 recruits through Basic Training or ask questions in the RecruiterChat, which takes place Monday through Friday.

Coast Guard

Maritime security, oil spill response and vessel inspections are all part of Coast Guard careers. The Coast Guard is the service with the most assignments in the country - suitable for those not wanting to stray too far from home.

Marines

The Marines execute missions on land, air and sea to protect nuclear weapon sites and American embassies. Many of their assignments deal with rapid crisis response, so they can be deployed to any international location within a day. Navy

ROTC
