The State Occupational Projections site allows you to search for the state with the highest projected growth of openings in dozens of occupations.
For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the number of computer programmers will increase by at least 50 percent in Arizona, Virginia and Oklahoma by 2008. Programmers will also be in demand in Colorado, Washington, South Carolina and Oregon.
