Job Description

Function:

To identify and satisfy clients’ advertising needs while representing the interests of Univision Radio in a professional manner. This position provides support to the Local Sales Manager, General Sales Manager, and/or the General Manager. This position focuses on the New Mexico market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Generate new clients by soliciting qualified business on a consistent basis.

·         Schedule qualified client meetings weekly.

·         Project and meet budgets in all categories, produce and achieve goals (i.e. number of accounts, average unit rate, monthly revenue goals, etc.).

·         Plan weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity.

·         Interpret and communicate ratings information with the ultimate goal of capitalizing on profits and maximizing client results.

·         Monitor and collect monies owed by clients for advertising within company guidelines.

·         Multi-task and handle a high volume of sales.

·         Write copy for client’s commercials.

·         Attend regularly scheduled sales meetings.

·         Attend and participate in station-sponsored events.

·         Understand and communicate the resources, products, and capabilities of the stations effectively.

·         Assist in creation, development, and execution of station and client-focused promotions.

·         Abide by and support organizational goals and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

·         Receive incoming telephone calls, take messages, and respond to routine questions and requests. Also, provide service, follow-ups, and reports to clients, in a professional and timely manner.

·         Remain calm and professional through stressful circumstances.

·         Work effectively in a team environment and also independently.

·         Complete projects within deadlines.

·         Maintain open and regular communication with General Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager, and General Manager.

·         Maintain open and regular communication with other departments (i.e. Accounting, Traffic, Promotions, Production, and Programming), as needed.

·         Maintain aging and account status up to date. in a timely manner..

·         Active involvement in collection and follow-up of accounts.

·         Abide by company policy and deadlines in regards to all procedures.

·         May require working hours outside of regular business hours, on occasion.

·         Prepare client proposals, with attention to detail.

·         Regular and timely attendance required.

·         Professional dress expected.

·         Some travel may be required.

·         Other duties as assigned.

·         Must maintain a good driving record.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:

·         Must possess excellent time management skills.

·         Must be goal-driven, have strong follow through skills

·         Must possess excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

·         Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills.

·         Must possess superior attention to detail.

·         Requires the ability to work professionally with all levels of organizations.

·         Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

·         Working knowledge of programming and production software preferred (i.e. Audio Vault, Audition, Console Production, Collateral Hardware, and Music Master).

·         Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Must possess a good driving record.

                                                        Experience and Education 

·         A minimum of 2 years experience in media sales. (radio, TV or print) required

·         High School Diploma or GED required.

·         Associates or Bachelors degree desired but not necessary.

Necessary Language Skills:

·         Strong English language skills (written and oral) required, Spanish language fluency required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to drive.
