Job Description
A Part-time teaching position (Hours Vary) in the Science, Allied Health and Physical Education Department. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teach courses in Associate Degree Nursing program using a variety of teaching modalities in a classroom environment and perform other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.
- Must be flexible working with program demands, including teaching schedules involving day, evening or weekend and non-traditional teaching times on and off site.
- Serve on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.
- Participates enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advise students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to the department’s curriculum development efforts.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Licensed as RN in the State of Texas.
- Three years demonstrated expertise in an ADN program or three years recent hospital clinical experience.
- Specialty needed: Med-Surg or any of the following Med-Surg/OB, Med-Surg/Pedi or Med/Psych.
- Requires professional demeanor, good communications skills, interpersonal skills, writing syllabi and exams.
- Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
- Official transcript and TX RN license required with application.
- A criminal background check will be conducted.
