Job Description
A part-time teaching position (Hours Vary) in the Continuing Education Workforce Development Department. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Under general supervision, instructs basic academy and specialized Continuing Education courses in Custody Control/Defensive Tactics with emphasis on other skills areas, such as Law Enforcement Driver Training, Patrol Operations and/or Firearms.
- Develops course outlines and reference materials for various courses instruction in basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement schools.
- Assists in developing, writing, and modifying curriculum for training programs within the state.
- Completes other job related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Dean or Program Coordinator.
Job Requirements
- Must possess an instructor's certificate issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer along with proof that the individual has instructed non-lethal self-defense of a third party for three or more years.
- Must be Department of Public Safety instructor qualified.
- Must be Level 3 or 4 instructor qualified.
- Official transcripts required.
- A criminal background check will be conducted.
