Job Description
Purpose of position Work with multiple IT teams departments to design, develop, and maintain reporting environment using standard ETL and BI tools.
Essential functions Interact with the user community to gather and document business requirements, conduct process analysis, and draft conceptual design. Design and maintain the infrastructure for the project, including ETL processing, metadata maintenance, and data validation. Design and implement new Oracle tables and fields in the reporting database. Work with users and other IT members on a routine basis to troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to the reports and the reporting database environment. Identify the cause, design or develop an approach for resolution. Upon approval, implement the correction to meet user specific needs. Test, evaluate, and implement new or upgraded software. Assess the impact of PeopleSoft updates on the reporting database and provide proposals for applying them effectively. Assist with training campus users on tools, and in the use of the tools. Design, code, test and install complex reports/queries based on technical specifications. Provide user assistance and direction for ad hoc data reporting. Plan, design (data mapping), and create reports and cubes for business users.

Job Requirements
Required qualifications Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of systems design, analysis, and programming experience in a combination of: 2+ years experience with relational databases and SQL Plus (or Oracle 9i/10g tools) AND 2+ years experience with BI tools (Oracle OBIEE or Oracle Discoverer preferred) and OLAP development. Experience with ETL tools (Cognos DecisionStream or Ascential preferred). Ability to create and analyze ERDs. Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications Master's degree. Certifications in supported technologies. Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Experience in development utilizing PeopleSoft Tools (Application Designer, PS Query). Experience with the Oracle/PeopleSoft EPM product. Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization.
Working conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
