Junior Accountant, Upscale Property Management Company
Full-Time
Position: A/P A/R and Administrative Clerk
SUMMARY
Work closely with Assistant Controller and management at a rapidly growing property management company. You will be responsible for the AP/ AR functions for a busy and growing portfolio of Upper West Side/Brooklyn Heights multi-tenant buildings, brownstones. Amongst other things, you will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Process accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Maintain tenant database and process leases
- Process security deposit refunds
- Prepare monthly rent statements
- Manage journal entries
- Assist in Prepare month-end close
- Perform bank reconciliations
Specific Responsibilities:
- Vendor maintenance
- Invoice coding and processing
- Cash disbursement
- Filing of paid invoices
- Reconciliation of vendor invoices
- Property / Tenant maintenance in the accounting system
- Recurring rent charge processing
- Tenant receipts application
- Various tenant adjustment processing
- Ad-hoc projects and analysis
- Administrative and Clerical Duties
- Mailings
- Send out leases (requires physically going to the post office)
- Filings
- Bank Deposits
- Light phone duties

Job Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 2 Years of previous accounting experience (MUST have)
- Solid understanding of A/P and A/R processes and their impact on General Ledger (MUST have)
- Basic understanding or financial statements
- Strong Excel and PC skills & high comfort level with ‘systems’ (MUST have)
- Strong communications and inter-personal skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Education Level: minimum two years of college
