Registered Nurse -- Help our Heroes-The US Soldiers

If you have a BSN, a current US RN license, and a military nursing background -We need you to join our team at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.

As a Nurse Registrar, you will manage and coordinate the systematic collection, aggregation, coding, storage, retrieval, and reporting of demographic, incident, treatment, and outcome data for casualties during military operations. The Registrar will serve as the on-site Project Manager, and is responsible for contract performance of medical record abstraction, data entry, ICD-9-CM and AIS 2005 Military version (MV) coding, data quality management, and data management. Qualified applicants will provide on-site management of all JTTR (Joint Theatre Trauma Registry) DAB functions and contract personnel.  Tasks will also include review, and analyzing medical trauma statistical data in support of the JTTR registry program.  Additional duties include providing monthly status reports on productivity, and data quality in order to ensure efficient and effective JTTR performance.   A key component to this role will be the coordination with all levels of JTTR to ensure consistent and quality data, and interface with internal and external stakeholders.  

Additionally, applicants selected must have US citizenship, and be open to occasional travel.  This is a longer term contract opportunity with benefits available.

Job Requirements

Nurse Registrar will need skills in the following areas:

-BS in Nursing, with an MSN preferred.
-US RN License (current).
-Minimum of five consecutive years of nursing experience with at least three years experience as a critical care nurse in a critical care unit, trauma unit, emergency department, or inpatient operating room.
-Minimum of five years of Management experience.
-Minimum of three years experience working as a Trauma Nurse Coordinator or Trauma Nurse Registrar, or equivalent experience.
-Sufficient expertise as a project manager to successfully complete the requirements of the contract
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and office automation software/tools.
-Preferred:  Previous experience in a trauma registry is preferred.
-Preferred:  Experience in military healthcare systems is preferred.
