Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to assist the Chief Engineer in directing the engineering departments operations (provide technical and administrative support), preplanning of mechanical preventive maintenance, and supervises and directs maintenance personnel in installation, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. This position will assume the Chief Engineers' responsibilities as necessary.

ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER - Richardson, TX

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift and monitor performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Perform and/or direct the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, insuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
• Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition.
• Provide training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff.
• Supervise and implement the preventative maintenance program.
• Direct the performance of contracted maintenance work as needed.
• Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Insure the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies.
• Responsible for the operational management and effective daily leadership and administration of the engineering team with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and effectively operating machinery and systems in a cost-effective manner.
• The Assistant Chief Engineer must ensure the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the clients' needs, and commitment to achieving the goal of 100% uptime throughout the engineering team.
• Protect and improve the value of the clients' assets and ensure that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function.
• Perform additional job duties as requested.

Accountabilities:

• Assist Chief Engineer to maintain 100% reliability record for all critical systems.
• Provide the ability to write a script, perform a CEWA and complete the closeout process
• Implement Jones Lang LaSalle Individual Performance Management Plan (IPMP) as directed by Chief Engineer.
• Maintain annual safety & technical training programs as required as directed by Chief Engineer
• Work in conjunction with Chief Engineer to assure site meets/exceeds environmental regulations.
• Actively participate in creation and implementation of site energy plan.
• Comply with Jones Lang LaSalle & Client annual audits requirements.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years related work experience, including supervisory experience.
• Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC's (or within 90 days of employment).
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
• Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Valid Drivers License.
