Job Description
The Art Institute of Seattle is looking for a dynamic, career minded individual to join our Academic Affairs Department as an Assistant Registrar.
Key Job Elements:
· Run, or confirm the running of, reports on a regular basis and provide to appropriate departments and/or individuals.
· Handle all aspects of the grading procedure.
· Ensure that student files are complete and filing occurs on a regular basis. Academic files must be in accordance with standards set by AACRAO.
· Coordinate registration process with the Academic Affairs department and Registrar.
· Coordinate with the Registrar on the graduation process. Work with outside vendors to acquire diplomas.
· Purchase supplies for department - handle P.O. system.
· Schedule department for orientation and first weeks of each quarter; organize orientation materials.
· Maintain student handbook.
· Responsible for keeping department informed of upcoming events and all of school on Registrar events/issues.
· Notify students of honor roll status.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
1. Knowledge:
a) Bachelor’s Degree in educational counseling or related field required.
b) At least one year of related experience working in a post-secondary institution.
2. Skills:
a) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
b) Strong interpersonal skills with both peer and student populations.
c) Superior organizational and planning skills as well as attention to detail.
d) Strong analytical and technical software skills (MS Office suite and database applications).
3. Abilities:
a) Work effectively a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met.
b) Ability to manage office inventory and submit receipts for payment.
c) Ability to comply with regulatory requirements with respect to student academic records and other documentation.
