Job Description
SUMMARY
Assists Senior Benefits Consultant and Benefits Consultant in maintaining their books of business and provides analytical support, participates in project work, resolves day-to-day service issues and develops client relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility to maintain existing day-to-day services, renewal on small groups (2-50 lives) in addition to assisting Senior Consultant in maintaining middle market business through service and sales. Service includes assisting client contacts and problem solving on day to day issues.
Communicates with other team members all information relative to client relations.
Attends client meetings and provide input when necessary.
Works with clients to gather information for plans and projects.
Coordinates plan marketing.
Assists Benefits Department with implementation and renewal meetings for employees. Explains all aspects of existing or revised/new programs to employees in either a large group or in a one-on-one setting.
Must be able to:
Participate in financial reviews of renewals.
Prepare basic financial statistics and spreadsheets.
Conduct basic underwriting analysis.
Review SPD's and carrier contracts.
Explain contract provisions. Assist clients as needed.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university plus one year of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Life and Health Insurance Licenses or agreement to obtain Life and Health Insurance Licenses.
