Job Description

Purpose:

To verify all the patient demographic insurance is accurate to ensure clean claims are submitted to the insurance company.

Key Responsibilities:

·            Ensure all insurance and patient information is accurate

·            Contacting the physician to verify any missing information

·            Work with supervisor and other BI Team members when special case handling is required.

·            Comply with all system and documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

·            Meet Data Verification process time standards by completing assigned work list tasks in a timely matter and/or reporting to management when assistance is needed to complete the tasks.

·            Participate in team meetings by sharing the details of cases worked.

·            Act as a back-up on answering incoming telephone calls as needed.

·            May undertake special projects assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience:

·         High School diploma or GED

·         Minimum of two years customer service experience

·         Knowledge of health insurance terminology and the billing process

·         Possess superior customer service skills

·         Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word

·         Able to multi-task, establish priorities, and work independently

·         Capable of accurate, high speed data entry
