Job Summary
Maintain network quality and communicate technical issues and solutions. Knowledge of component level and base band equipment, which includes analog and digital, composite, component, NTSC, PAL, AES, SDI and HD signals.
The responsibilities of this role include:
Maintain network quality, minimize customer outages and communicate technical issues and solutions in daily shift reports and pass-down meetings. Install, maintain and repair to component level various types of base band equipment: which includes analog and digital, composite, component, NTSC, PAL, AES, SDI and HD signals. Maintain and support other key and networked systems which include PPV file servers, automation, routers, A/V alarm, analog to digital converter, processing and commercial insertion equipment.
Specifically, duties include (but are not limited to):
- Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems.
- Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, up converters, down converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Down converters (LNBs), and switching and/or monitoring audio/video equipment. Performs maintenance and repair on large transmit/receive and receive-only satellite antenna systems.
- Provide sketches of drawings required for equipment installation.
- Maintains, monitors, and configures MPEG content in a multi-channel broadcast environment. Manage networks controlling, monitoring, and distributing digitally encoded audio/video content. Evaluates and troubleshoots the transmission of digital video signals across local and wide area networks utilizing TCP/IP and fiber networks. Required to help complete daily activity reports and maintain department documentation. This position requires shift work.
Skills:
- Experience with professional digital video encoding equipment.
- Knowledge of MPEG specifications to include the ETR290.
- Experience with MPEG analyzers.
- Solid experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Moderate level knowledge of networking protocols to include TCP/IP, BOOTP, TFTP.
- Familiarity with digital video routing systems.
- Moderate experience with RF modulation schemes to include, QPSK and 8PSK.
- Must be detail oriented and willing to work shift work.

Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications to be considered are:
Education: Associate degree in Electronics from an accredited college and/or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3+ years IT or compressed video systems experience.
