Job Description

Market and Credit Risk Business Analyst needed for global investment company located in mid-town Manhattan - excellent career growth.  Requires strong SQL, Sybase and analysis skills.

This position will support the Market / Credit risk application environment. The focus will be as liaison with business users and IT regarding operations support, new project activities, process improvements and providing support of enhancements of the Market and Credit applications. This position will focus on supporting the Risk environment growth, regulatory needs, technology solutions and development of applications/environments.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop Business requirements documents and project plans and timelines

·         Support project controls and monitoring

·         Weekly and Monthly Status reporting

·         Develop and support Business application specifications

·         Documentation of application and environment

·         Application scripts and testing

·         Support of Risk process improvement

Skill Set:

·         Strong Knowledge of Credit and Market Risk  - Collateral is a plus

·         Knowledge base of Risk applications and functionality â€" i.e. RiskMetrics, Algo a plus

·         Strong Software development methodology and architecture experience

·       ****Strong SQL skills, experience working with Sybase and strong business analysis skills 
Full Life cycle methodology experience â€"  requirements, design, development, testing and roll-out

·        Ability to work with business resources from management to staff at all levels and functions

·         Product knowledge â€" Repo, Derivatives, Mortgages, Options, Bonds, Equities and more

·         Testing knowledge and process

·         Production and Operation support experience

·         Risk Reporting experience from Exposure, DVO1, VAR, Limits, etc….

·         Basic knowledge to understand design requirements â€" Understanding of Perl, ETL tools, Scheduling tools, Java, MQ Series, PHP (web), Visual Basic, SQL, XML, VBA (Excel), etc...

·         Databases/Operating systems â€" Sybase, Oracle, Stored procedures, Linux, Solaris, etc…

·         Process flow / process innovation experience

·         Environment controls & procedures experience

·         BA/BS required â€" MBA (plus)

·         10 + years of experience, with a minimum of 5 + years dedicated in the Risk application development area
