Campaign Manager, Light The Night

Desert Mountain States Chapter

 

Basic Function:

Responsible for managing multiple or complex campaigns or projects including strategic planning, budgeting and implementation for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society within the Chapter’s chartered area. Management responsibility for assigned financial and human resources.

 

One of LLS' signature fundraising campaigns, Light The Night is a nationwide, annual, evening fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate people whose lives have been touched by cancer. The Light The Night Walk will be one of the primary campaign responsibilities of this position.

 

Work Direction:

Works under the supervision and direction of the Senior Campaign Director or assigned staff, requiring management approval for activities outside the annual Plan of Operation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a comprehensive Plan of Operations for assigned special events which includes a specific budget, timeline, logistics, volunteer activities and recruitment, marketing and sponsorship plan for each event.
  • Responsible for supervising and training campaign and support staff in the delivery of special events.
  • Manages and ensures that media, material, in-kind and cash sponsorships are secured through a coordinated plan that includes proposal development, prospect identification, cultivation, retention and recognition.
  • Manages and ensures the development of all materials required for the successful implementation of assigned special events including recruitment/promotional flyers and brochures, invitations, posters, training materials, pledge retrieval or motivational materials, etc.
  • Responsible for volunteer management (i.e. recruitment, training, motivation, supervision and evaluation) required to plan and implement assigned special events.
  • Responsible for motivating and educating walk participants to reach agreed upon revenue goals.
  • Identifies target audiences and builds appropriate marketing and monitoring strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge and retain event donors/participants.
  • Develops and coordinates promotional activities to ensure the success of events and to enhance public awareness of the Society and its mission.
  • Tracks income and expenses associated with assigned events and facilitates comprehensive campaign records, evaluations and reports.
  • Assists, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other chapter activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Society's mission and its programs to address them.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 


Job Requirements

  • Capable of managing self and others with minimal supervision; skilled at planning and execution of strategies and tasks through personal initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor.
  • Resourcefulness, promotions savvy and problem solving acumen.
  • Good computer skills (word processing and database programs)
  • Minimum preferred education: Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 or more years fundraising and communications, sales or marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated staff management capabilities.
