Job Description
Provide career guidance for students and graduates regarding resume content, interviewing skills, professionalism, industry expectations, and outplacement. Contact industry employers, both locally and nationally, for job leads and job orders.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist recent graduates, alumni and current students in career placement in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.
- Conduct seminars on resume creation, interviewing, and job search skills.
- Help coordinate and participate in job fairs, portfolio nights or other student activities and events.
- Research and analyze employment trends at the local and national level.
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential employers to obtain job listings.
- Assist in support of career fairs on campus.
- Maintain placement information and student files placement in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.
- Verify students’ employment and/or waivers.
- Accumulate information for employment statistics
- Develop and maintain a current job list for graduating students and alumni. Interview students and graduates to assist in strategizing for their professional job search.
- To achieve and maintain individual placement goals, as well as team goals.·
- Track job orders until they are filled.
- Provide reports to management on employment progress of specific classes and specific programs
- Other duties as assigned
- Help with Student Retention
- Participate in the presentation and portfolio class with upcoming graduates
Hours: 2 days/week=9am-6pm, 2days/week=11am-8pm, Friday=8am-5pm
Job Requirements
- Thorough understanding of the career planning/counseling process.
- May be required to work flexible schedule, with overtime
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, customer service, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Excellent research skills
Education & Knowledge:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in counseling and/or advising in an academic environment
- Prior sales or recruiting experience
- Knowledgeable of school and company policies and procedures and all applicable federal and state regulations as well as all accrediting agencies standards
