Job Description
Empire Investment Holdings is a private investment firm focused exclusively on the acquisition and strategic management of non-core business units from the Global 2000. Position is an integral part of a senior leadership team responsible for directing all finance and accounting activities of a diverse portfolio of companies. Position reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer will have overall responsibility for the current and long-term effectiveness of all financial functions including accounting, business reporting, budgetary control, cash management, treasury, payroll, collections, financing, banking, investments, taxes, audit and asset management.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational finance and accounting activities to ensure integrity of the financial information of the firm and its portfolio companies
- Manage all finance and accounting staff of the firm and its portfolio companies
- Manage general accounting, credit and collections, treasury and cash management, tax compliance, banking relations and financial information
- Build the firm’s finance/accounting organization into a cost effective, high performance disciplined function
- Develop and implement department goals, policies and programs to reflect the desired standards of performance for the accounting and finance departments
- Coordinate the preparation of GAAP financial statements, financial reports, credit facility reporting and compliance, special analyses, and other relevant information reports
- Responsible for conducting finance and accounting due diligence of prospective investment targets and reporting findings to the investment committee
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
- Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
- Meet regularly with the CEO and other executives to explain and discuss the financial and business condition of the firm
- Prepare budgets and forecasting for the firm
- Direct the preparation of financial reports and presentations for the firm
- Direct profit and cash flow improvement initiatives for the firm
- Serve as a liaison with banks and outside service firms, including public accountants and attorneys
- Train and manage the professional development of accounting and financial staff

Job Requirements
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- MBA preferred
- Certified CPA
- Experience as a CFO with a proven track record working for a $150 million plus firm
- Experience with diverse audit, tax, financial, funding, consolidations, accounting and reporting issues
· Superior leadership and communication skills demonstrated in multiple environments
- Experience with acquisitions and financial turnarounds
- International experience, with a focus in Europe and Asia
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Highest level of integrity and able to handle and manage confidential information
- Experience with contracting, negotiating, and change management
- Experience of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Work requires willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule
- Ten plus years of executive management experience in finance and accounting
- Significant experience in corporate finance and development with a strong financial analysis of systems and control/asset management
- Significant leadership abilities in team building and staff management experience with proven success in developing strong relationships with other executives
- High energy and enthusiasm to perform in a self-managed work environment
- A visionary who can see the overall big picture and how performance is measured
- A demonstrated ability to approach problem solving with creativity and innovation
- A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
- The ability to problem solve with all appropriate parties, regardless of their position within the firm
- The ability to synthesize information, use sound judgment, formulate conclusions, and articulate recommendations in a way that is meaningful and valuable
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
