Job Description

We currently are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our Carrollton, TX office.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Managing all aspects of accounting, finance, insurance, tax, and investments for a business owner whose primary business is a multi-unit landscape company in multiple states but also has numerous other business interests and investments.
  • Person is responsible for managing an accounting staff of 6, including all hiring/firing, training, and staff development.
  • Person is responsible for computers, software, and network administration, largely done via third party consultants.
  • Generates reviews and analyzes all company financials on a monthly basis, including adherence to any and all government regulations, including GAAP.
  • Makes recommendations and implements strategy for improving all related entities relative to the accounting, financial workings, and operational performance.
  • Ensures timely payment of all related taxes of all entities.
  • Coordinates monthly and quarterly reviews as well as an annual audit with outside CPA firm.
  • Direct interface with all banking relationships, credit facilities, and bonding agencies.
  • Manage and provide information needed by outside CPA to prepare all tax returns.

  • Manage daily cash flow requirements for all entities.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field.  CPA or CPA candidate is strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully managing accounting staff.
  • Strong skills and understanding of Timberline software.  This is a major requirement of this position.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and management for a $25-50 million organization, preferably in a landscape, construction, service industry, or real estate related firm.
  • Ability to no only produce but analyze financial statements and balance sheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Communication skills in both verbal and written form are major requirement of position.
  • Previous experience in managing all aspects of accounting/finance.
  • Previous experience in managing all aspects of insurance requirements for multi-faceted firm.
  • Conducts one’s self with the highest ethics and values in both personal and professional life.
