Job Description: Claims specialist will handle disputes from homeowners and claims/chargeback issues from clients. Researching loan histories on both FieldScape and MSP (the clients' system) to create and build the case file. Specialist will then be required to analyze the data gathered, determine cause for the claim, determine responsible party(ies) and negotiate settlements with 3rd parties and clients. Will be maintaining multiple files simultaneously, most of which will be in different phases of the process. The use of good, sound judgment will be essential in assessing responsibility with the major focus on mitigating the financial loss to LPS. The specialist will help in identifying and addressing the root causes of the claims and disputes and work with the manager in training Operations processors on the avoidance of errors which lead to claims. - Record incoming claims and disputes in CDR database
- Gather appropriate documentation for claim validation
- Conduct research for claim validation
- Root cause analysis
- Provide FIS supporting documentation to third parties
- Prepare, distribute and collect settlement agreements
- Process vendor charge-backs
- Perform discretionary projects as assigned by mamagement.
Minimum Requirements: - Minimum of 2 year work experience in the legal field or default mortgage servicing
- Knowledge of claims processing including FHA, VA, FHLMC, FNMA
- Sound analytical, written and verbal communication skills
