VC SUMMER
The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SGR) and the Nuclear Division of its Power Group and consortium partner Westinghouse Electric Company have been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for two AP1000� nuclear power units by South Carolina Electric & Gas Company, principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation (NYSE: SCG), and the South Carolina Public Service Authority (Santee Cooper), a state-owned electric and water utility in South Carolina. The two 1,117-megawatt units, which require federal and state regulatory approval prior to construction, will be located at the existing V.C. Summer Nuclear Station near Jenkinsville, S.C. Known as V.C. Summer 2 and 3, the new units are scheduled for completion in 2016 and 2019, respectively.

The EPC contract for V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3 is the second EPC contract for new nuclear power generation awarded to Shaw and Westinghouse.. In April 2008, Georgia Power awarded the companies the first EPC contract for a new nuclear power plant in the United States in more than 30 years

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Minimum Years Experience
5 to 10

Experienced in managing on-site concrete production facilities including:
� Set-up, operation and maintenance of concrete batch plant systems and truck delivery fleet
� Bulk material supply
� Daily concrete production ranging from 200 to 600 cubic yards
� Large continuous concrete placements up to 6500 cubic yards
� Concrete production quality control programs (experience with Nuclear QA or similar rigorous quality programs would be a plus)

Implements Shaw�s program for standardized concrete production operations on a two unit nuclear power plant construction project. Responsible for set-up of concrete batching operations for production of over 400,000 cubic yards over a period of six years. Implements the plans for on-site concrete production including erection of batch plant systems comprising two 12 cubic yard central mixer plants, ice production facilities, chilled water and hot water systems. Qualifies the concrete production facilities including National Ready Mix Concrete Association inspection of the plants and truck fleet. Responsible for on-site daily concrete production. Responsible for staffing the on-site plants with qualified operators, mechanics and truck drivers. Assists in developing plans and procedures for operating the plants. Implements a program of rigorous compliance with Shaw�s nuclear quality assurance and quality control requirements. Implements Shaw�s safety program for concrete plant operations.

Based at Shaw�s VC Summer Nuclear Power Plant construction site in Jenkinsville, SC, reports on a daily basis to the Deputy Construction Manager and technically to Shaw�s Concrete Production Manager. Develops detailed concrete production plans for continuous concrete placement of 6,500 cubic yards and support of multiple critical concrete placement in the thousands of cubic yards. Responsible for implementation of a maintenance and refurbishment program for the concrete batch systems and truck delivery fleet to ensure safe reliable sustained operations. Coordinates efforts with Shaw�s Contact and Procurement groups to set up sub-contracts and purchase orders for plant maintenance and raw materials
