Instructional Design Project Manager

Arise Virtual Solutions services include consulting, development of virtual instructor-led activities, blended elearning solutions, simulations/animations, and applications. Our expertise in instructional design and content development allows us to specifically tailor programs to our clients' specifications.

 

The Instructional Design Project Manager is a key member of the Certification Team, demonstrating thought leadership and project management for blended learning solutions in the virtual environment.  This key role partners with clients to analyze specific business needs, corporate culture, infrastructure, and performance gaps before designing and developing an advanced, custom, performance-improving training solution. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Arise is looking for an experienced Instructional Design Project Manager to work with our project teams to develop and deliver interactive e-learning solutions for our clients. Candidates should be able to execute end-to-end course development process which includes: designing and delivering solutions; executing project scope; validating business and technical requirements and parameters and actively participate in the quality assurance role. This role must also accomplish project objectives as defined by client agreements and manage client expectations; as well as examine and recommend changes to a client’s approach.  The project lead reports to the Manager of Instructional Design.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  •  Manages all facets of training projects to ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality goals. This includes new client launches, and large scale projects.

  • Monitor and organize projects in a database as they come in from clients and Client Results Managers.

  • Develops project plans, schedules, and objectives; establishes and achieves financial objectives by preparing a project budget; scheduling and approving expenditures; analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.

  • Works with the instructional designers to develop project agreements for each new project (when necessary).

  • Implements solutions by monitoring project progress; tracking action items; conducting design and implementation reviews; examining, researching, and resolving issues; escalating issues to appropriate authority; responding to team members’ concerns.

  • Builds relationship with client while managing expectations, communicating project status and open issues; preparing reports; conducting reviews and issue meetings; forecasting and mitigating issues.

  • Completes post-production work i.e., makes recommendations to improvement of customer-service standards, identifies work process improvements, develop and coordinates project controls and associated performance metrics to measure success.

  • Works with instruction, scheduling, design, relationship managers and client to ensure that process improvements are implemented on a regular basis.

  • Coordinates personnel resources (including design tasks) to ensure the appropriate amount of time is spent on projects and helps prioritize the workload when the project conflicts with other job duties or projects.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills and expert problem-solving and negotiation skills.

  •  Works with key stakeholders communicating program details to project team and leadership.

  • Must be willing to adapt to various roles within a project and complete project-level work (while stepping out of PM role).

  • Role out the maintenance process to each of the clients to ensure content is being updated on a regular basis.

  • Lead Performance quality analyses of new and existing content to ensure quality design standards as well as Arise standards are upheld.

  • Updates job knowledge by tracking industry advances; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publication; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

     


Job Requirements

 

  • Desired background includes a Bachelors Degree, and 3-5 years of leadership experience or experience as a project manager in the area of training or consulting; or an equivalent combination of a degree and training development experience.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and the Instructional Design process.

  • Experience with risk analysis and project sustainment (service level agreements).

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Project, Visio and web authoring tools

  • Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills are necessary for success in this role. 

  • Strong analytical, teaming, communication, problem-solving, negotiation and time management skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% required.
