Job Description
The Division of Information Technology at Florida International University is currently seeking a Senior Unix Administrator/Programmer.
Responsibilities include:
- Function as technical ITIM, LDAP, Blackboard CE6 & Moodle Administrator.
- Provide support and administrate other systems as required, including, but not limited to web servers, file servers, anti-virus servers, e-mail, listservs, departmental servers and storage systems.
- Develop, debug, and maintain LDAP and ITIM programs written in Javascript, UNIX scripts & Java to support the University's centralized authentication and provisioning system.
- Provide support for FIU's Brocade Storage Area Network and FIU's IBM Enterprise Storage Systems.
Job Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Desired qualifications:
- Experienced in Linux (RedHat) and Solaris administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experienced in Unix scripting and programming (C, php, Java & Javascript).
- Must be good at creating custom code and debugging.
- Experienced in LDAP administration and scripting.
- Experience with Rational databases (MySQL, Oracle) is desired.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information well, verbally and in writing.
Salary Range: $ 60,000.00-$ 70,000.00
