Job Description
SUMMARY:Prepare and monitor physician and allied health provider applications for hospital privileges, medical licenses and DEA certificates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Develop relationships with hospital boards and medical staff offices and communicate as needed in order to obtain hospital privileges
• Communicate with state medical boards to facilitate issuance of medical licenses and DEA's.
•Complete all necessary forms for submission to the proper licensure and/or hospital entities
•Prepare check requests for required application fees
•Conduct written and oral follow up to determine application status, based on hospital committee meeting dates
•Maintain and update company database with licensure and/or privilege status
•Document all tasks, phone calls, emails and other communication as needed
•Escalate issues to the appropriate members of the management staff, region, and/or co-workers as necessary
•Respond promptly to all questions, received via phone or email, regarding any license and/or privilege
•Maintain state licensure links on Pediatrix website
Complete other tasks or projects as assigned
Job Requirements
Three to five years+ hospital privileging and licensing experience. Medical Staff Office experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of JCAHO and the credentialing process. Excellent computer skills, ability to work independently and detail-oriented.
Must be very organized and able to process numerous files in various stages and meet established target dates.
Must have excellent follow-up skills. CPCS certification is a plus.
