Overall Purpose of Job:
The primary activities for this role is to develop and recommend hedging ideas/strategies for the bank’s lending portfolio through the use of real-market information, market research and traditional credit analysis for HQA’s Corporate Loan Portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate the credit quality and trends of HQA’s Corporate Loan Portfolio by using publicly available information such as reported financial performance, secondary market information (CDS, LCDS, Bond and Loan prices) and market research. Role will include developing and analyzing fundamental credit performance/trends, building cash flow and valuation models and estimating recovery value for the Bank’s loan exposures.
- Identify and recommend hedging strategies for HQA’s Corporate Loan Portfolio with the goal of reducing industry and single name concentrations and exposure to deteriorating credits within the Portfolio.
- Maintain direct communication with public side analysts at broker dealers, ratings agencies or other sources.
- Assist the Bank in the early warning credit process.
- Perform Ad-hoc portfolio reviews and analysis to support the CPM function within HQA.
Job Requirements
Experience/Abilities:
· 5+ years as a credit analyst analyzing both investment grade and below investment grade loans and bonds.
· Understanding of the capital markets and mark-to-market driven performance.
Education:
· Bachelor’s in /Econ./Math/Engineering or a related field
· Graduate Degree in Finance/Economics and or CFA
