Summary of Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
- Conduct business specific research and analyze data; Interpret results and make recommendations.
- Meet internal and external customer needs with prompt, courteous, timely and accurate information.
- Exercise sound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations to improve work processes.
- Actively seek formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand element procedures.
- Build relationships and credibility across organization.
- Provide staff support to management and higher levels of professionals.
- Revenue Assurance supports the field operations of Revenue Operations with reducing arrears by preparing and/or reviewing reports to ensure accurate billing and timely dunning activity.
- Identify, research and correct exceptions to recapture revenue and reduce uncollectibles.
- Process bankruptcies and the Ohio Human service programs such as PIPP, E-HEAP/Summer Cooling and Regular HEAP.
- Working knowledge of Contact Center environment, expectations and processes.
- Understanding State Utility Regulation and apply when appropriate.


Summary of Qualifications:
- Must have High School diploma or GED. A minimum 1-3 years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word (SAP is a plus).
- Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results and develop existing relationships.
- Core understanding of applicable products and/or services and of customer needs and expectations.
- Must possess excellent communication skills including good grammar, tone of voice and diction.
- Understand best practices and techniques for addressing customer concerns.
- Desire to continue to learn and grow, work across FirstEnergy and deliver results.
- Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
- Must be able to organize and multitask and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to follow established procedures and continually look for ways to improve processes.
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as Quick Reference Cards, training documents, CNet and other available on-line help tools.
- Receive, investigate and respond to all internal and external customer inquires including but not limited to: telememos, dunning reports, transfer reports, PIPP support, Social agency reports, bankruptcy reports and all others as assigned.
- Demonstrate good teamwork by supporting and interacting with peers, supervision and management teams.
- Must be organized and be able to multi-task.
- Ability to work flexible hours and ability to travel to outlying locations with possible overnight stays.
- Expected to work overtime occasionally that are both mandatory and optional, and to work additional hours in emergency situations including distribution electric outages.
- Develop knowledge base and require less supervisory assistance over time.
- Must be able to handle pressure in a constantly changing environment.
