Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accepts and directs all incoming calls into computerized PBX system, 80% answered in five rings or less
  • Acts as physician's answering service for company
  • Documents all pages according to department policy with 95% accuracy
  • Dials pagers for SMA personnel as requested
  • Connects personnel to caller as requested with 95% accuracy
  • Correctly answers phone and gives information telephonically with 95% accuracy
  • Performs overhead paging and announces emergency conditions with 100% accuracy
  • Updates and maintains reference material with 95% accuracy; 100% compliance initiating Black Book
  • This position will be a 2nd shift position.  1:30pm - 10pm 5 days per week; must be available to work some week-ends and holidays

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in medical PBX environment is required
  • Working knowledge of computerized telephone system preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person are required
  • This position will be a 2nd shift position.  1:30pm - 10pm 5 days per week; must be available to work some week-ends and holiday
  • Strong oral communication skills, listening abilities, and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant, courteous and helpful demeanor at all times
  • Ability to process and route calls in a timely manner
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
