Job Description
The Decision Support Analyst aids in the development and implementation of the Corporate Data Warehouse. The Decision Support Analyst combines technical ability and business knowledge to provide data marts for business process owners. The Decision Support Analyst works to ensure data integrity and to resolve data issues as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develops data dictionaries and documentation for the data warehouse.
- Participates in requirement meetings with Business Analysts to understand data warehouse and report content needs. Assists in documenting these requirements, resolving ambiguities and conflicts, and ensuring requirements are complete.
- Maximizes usability of the data warehouse by analyzing, designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining business intelligence reports, ad-hoc reporting interfaces, and business views and summary tables within the data warehouse.
- Strengthens user confidence in the data warehouse by ensuring data quality.
- Supports preparation of project plans. Reports on progress and deliverables against plan.
- Provides strategic thinking leadership pertaining to new ways of leveraging information to improve business processes.
- Assists in the training, support, rollout, maintenance, and ongoing administration of the data warehouse
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or Mathematics.
- Two to three years related experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidate must have working proficiency with the following:
* SQL
* Relational Databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
* Data warehousing principles and design
* Hyperion Intelligence
* OLAP
* Interrnet Explorer, Netscape or other browser
* Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to adapt to fast changing work environment to work on multiple time-critical issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing large quantities of equally important tasks.
