This is a key Finance Organization position. Expectations for individuals in this position are to demonstrate strong and effective leadership over the Financial Planning and Analysis Process The ideal candidate will play a leadership role in the strategic and financial planning of the Company. This individual will provide financial perspectives and analysis to drive business decisions. Deliverables will include the long range plan, annual budget, monthly forecast, weekly and monthly reporting, and ad hoc projects. The candidate will be able to develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships with all levels in the Company. This individual will bring to bear exceptional financial modeling, data management and presentation skills. This individual will approach projects with a flexible, innovative, service-oriented approach, and a strong emphasis on system-based (rather than people-based) solutions. This position will report directly to the Vice President Finance at the Company’s corporate headquarters KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and prepare annual operating budget. Assist in setting annual budget targets, lead the business units and corporate divisions through the process and prepare the annual financial budget for presentation to executive management and the Board
- Monitors business unit and cost center adherence to approved budget and perform variance analysis
- Maintain monthly financial forecasting model including forecast updates and risks/opportunities and support decision making by identifying any necessary action steps in response to key variances. Upgrade the integrity of financial forecast process to achieve improved accuracy and predictive value.
- Research and prepare complete responses to questions arising during monthly financial review meetings with Executive Management
- Prepare annual update to long-range financial forecast for presentation to executive management and the Board
- Interaction with all VPs and Directors to validate, prepare and consolidate financial information for the group
- Improve operating teams’ understanding of financial statements with thoughtful and transparent analysis. Collaborate with the operating team with and provide fact-based recommendations which improve profitability, operating efficiency and effectiveness
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Five (5) years experience which can be comprised of a mix of relevant experience
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance or equivalent discipline a must
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
§ As the candidate will be required to create models and analyze both our current and forecasted information, must possess excellent analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations - Strong knowledge of financial consolidations and reporting and month-end close process
- Demonstrated skills as a power user of business analytics and FPA decision support tools such as Hyperion/Hyperion Essbase
- Highly analytical and skilled in identifying problem causes and effectively interpreting results of root cause analysis
DESIRED QUALITIES: - Superior pc financial modeling skills. Excel mastery required; VBA, Access and SQL knowledge a plus
- Strong verbal communication skills with ability to interact well with senior management
- Strong communications skills â€" in addition to competencies around editing and writing, candidate must also be able to communicate effectively in meetings and describe deliverables and project milestones and checkpoints
- Materials produced will be routinely distributed to senior management, board members, investors and other stakeholders - Project management skills - proven ability to oversee a project with objective of prioritizing and investing time appropriately
- Ability to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems upon first evidence - Team player who understands the importance of the role as a key support function to the operating team
- Ability and desire to roll up their sleeves and be hands on in an entrepreneurial fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and within short time constraints in a complex system and business integrated environment
- Must be able to listen and interpret the requirements of internal customers, and verify for accuracy
