Position Summary

This person will build and manage the SWBC Internal Audit Department.  This includes leading the development of the department, designing the overall internal audit strategy and methodology, updating and creating the audit plan and implementing the internal audit plan.

 

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for all aspects of Internal Audit for the enterprise.  This includes financial audits, operational audits, information technology audits and various consulting assessments.  Identifies the audit universe, creates the annual audit plan, implements the audit plan and prepares reports on results
  • Effectively utilizes information technology to streamline processes, analyze problems and make decisions.  
  • Conducts audits, prepares and presents audit reports and assists in the development of action plans and recommendations to resolve identified weaknesses.  

  • Conducts and develops risk assessments with the business units and builds audit plans to address the most important opportunities for the business units. 
  • Provides consulting services.  Participates in process improvement initiatives of the SWBC.  Will provide guidance on best practices and assist in developing process and control enhancements as appropriate.     


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA, CIA, and/or CISA preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Must have at least seven (7) – ten (10) years corporate auditing experience.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of corporate auditing practices, procedures and principles.
  • Must have a strong background in Information Technology (IT) and IT audit.
  • Must have extensive experience in risk assessment and risk management practices.
  • Some experience in insurance, mortgage, and/or financial services compliance strongly preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of IT security concepts, client/server architecture, database management systems, system development life cycle, IT general controls, disaster recovery planning, and IT risk assessments.
  • Must have a working knowledge of GAAP, COBIT, COSO and the IIA Standards.
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple work assignments.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Must have superior interpersonal skills needed for working with all levels of management, including ability to maintain confidentially and utilize discretion in sensitive matters.
  • Must be able to exhibit self motivation, ability to accept additional responsibility and have a willingness to accept new challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time at the computer during performance of this position.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
