Director of Patient Access


This position is located in the Texas Medical Center - Houston, TX 

 

The Patient Access Director will be responsible for developing, coordinating and directing all receivables management and patient registration.  This includes all admitting, registration, financial screening, insurance pre-certification and verification, cash management, Medicare eligibility and denials/underpayment management activities.  This director will work closely with corporate business office on billing, insurance follow-up, credit collections and customer service.

Job Requirements


Director of Patient Access 


Requirements of Director of Patient Access include:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare or related field.  Master's degree preferred.
  • Five years experience in patient access, patient accounting and/or financial services in a healthcare institution.  Preference will be given to candidates with 8 years of direct experience in A/R analysis in a teaching or level 1 trauma healthcare institution .
  • Must have experience in identifying funding for unfunded accounts.
  • Must have strong leadership skills with prior management experience in a hospital business office.
