Job Description

This position is responsible for increasing ADT's market share and driving profitable revenue growth through video and applied technology security products and services. The function will drive strategic product roadmaps that meet vertical customer needs, manage external vendor partner product development efforts and lead internal cross functional teams to ensure flawless market launch of high impact vertical market solutions.

As the lead product subject matter expert for ADT this position will be frequently asked to participate in high level National Account customer meetings to present product roadmaps and strategic perspective. He/she will also support ADT marketing and public relations activities through speaking engagements and media event participation.

The video product category contributes in excess of $500M in revenue to ADT North America (including monthly monitoring) across all vertical market segments. The video product category is a key product area for ADT with estimated growth of over 10% per year driven by over 20% per year digital/IP video growth and advances in video analytics software platforms. It is also the most complex product category to manage given the large number of potential vendor partners (>100) and short, fast product development lifecycles driven by offshore electronics manufacturing sources. ADT sells over 100,000 residential, small business and commercial video cameras, DVR and network video devices annually with prices ranging from $100 to over $100,000 for integrated enterprise level platforms. Video product feature enhancements and cost/installation reduction efforts have a big impact on both ADT's revenue growth and profitability.

A key accountability of this position is leading the selection and deployment of ADT 'Product Integration' software platforms that will enable large scale enterprise and government customers to manage disparate security systems through a common network IP based user interface. Building differentiated integration solutions for vertical customers is a critical strategic priority for ADT and Tyco given the very aggressive recent entry into the Physical Security marketplace by major IT-centric hardware and software providers including Cisco, IBM and a range of IP software startup companies. This is a complicated cross functional team development effort that will also require building IP networking knowledge and expertise across the ADT sales, installation and service organizations.

A final product category that this position is responsible for is building a portfolio of ADT Select Service offerings ranging from security audit services to remote video monitoring services and virtual guard tours to a suite of mass notification products. These services will be key to ADT growing annual recurring revenue streams across all National Account and Core Commercial channels, a major strategic priority for Tyco.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop strategic roadmap for video and applied technology security products and services by vertical market that guide the ADT North America organization, its customers and partners.
2. Develop and negotiate product vendor partnerships and alliances necessary for product success.
3. Utilize an in depth knowledge of vertical customer video solution and security product integration needs and technology trends to drive vendor partner strategic product roadmaps and accelerate breakthrough solution development.
4. Proactively work with Tyco ESP team to ensure their product roadmaps address ADT vertical market customer needs and provide ESP with first to market opportunity.
5. Lead all Rally Point product development process activities associated with all video and applied technology product and service solutions to ensure quality technical evaluation, high impact business case development, senior management alignment and sponsorship and flawless market launches.
6. Work with other functional areas of the company, including marketing, operations, strategic sourcing, service and installation, finance, legal, and monitoring to provide direction and collaborate on all new video and applied technology products and product enhancements.
7. Collaborate with ADT Commercial and High Volume marketing and sales organizations to better understand vertical market customer needs and provide product guidance and presentation support for National Accounts.
8. Drive the development of sales tools including product launch packages, marketing tools, case studies, and sales training activities that will enhance overall effectiveness of the sales team.
9. Staff and develop a team of product managers.


Job Requirements

Education:
• BA degree in a business related field
• MBA preferred

Experience:
• Ten years of directly related industry or functional experience.
• Experience creating a strategic vision, gaining senior management alignment and flawlessly bringing new products or services to market.
• Demonstrated cross functional leadership
• Experience in project coordination/management.

Skills:
• Collaborative problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal and management presentation communication skills
• Advanced knowledge in product development and consumer/commercial marketing processes
• Technical aptitude, particularly with IP related product & software systems and services
