Job Description
Top ranked global law firm is seeking a Director of Professional Training and Development. This is position is of critical importance in developing the Firm’s intellectual capital. The selected candidate will be charged with creating, overseeing, and implementing the educational curriculum for all Attorneys, Partners, and Corporate Counsel.

Oversight, Development, Implementation & Administration of programs developed with the Professional Development Committee including Mentoring, ADGs, CLE Training, NAO, etc

Conduct training programs, coaching and counseling of associates and partners related to their professional development.

Development and implementation of special projects designed to improve professional development and the environment of associates, partners and counsel including evaluations, Upward Reviews, etc.

Development and oversight of Partner Training globally. This includes partner leadership program, partner communications (partner lunches, Managing Partner breakfasts, etc.)..

Management of the Professional Development Team in NY and coordination/communication with the PD contacts in the US & London.
Job Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Ability:
- 3+ years of experience leading a team in organizational development, or professional training and development at a large law firm.
- Ability to work with departmental heads and Senior Partners at the firm.
- Strong writing, presentation and organizational skills.
- Drive and enthusiasm to work and complete assignments under tight scheduling deadlines in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated customer service focus and team-first orientation
- Ability to respond quickly under tight deadline pressure
- Proven creativity, conceptual skills development and resourcefulness, as well as demonstrated experience effecting organizational initiatives and vision
- Excellent consultative and consensus-building skills in working with Partners and Senior Attorneys
- Organizational and political savvy in working within a large Professional services organization.
- Ability to negotiate individual, group and firm-wide needs and to interface successfully with multiple levels of the Attorney Programs and Resources team (partners, associates, legal support staff and Marketing and Business Development staff).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the firm’s professional development team across all sites.
- Top 100 Law firm experience a plus
Education/Certifications:

JD preferred.
- Bachelors degree required.
