Responsibilities and Duties

• Align supply resources with vertical market’s Design Engineers and Marketing to drive savings through VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) and NPD (New Product Development) projects
• Serve as a resource to the Global Business Unit Leadership and verticals single to aggregate supply savings
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to execute supplier quality and supplier lean initiatives
• Lead the NA work in developing & implementing critical material and supply chain initiatives intended to significantly improve cost productivity, improve quality, shorten lead time, and develop a world class supply base
• Develop longer term, strategies & process to more effectively manage key vertical commodities:
  • Help define global supply landscape,
  • Understand cost drivers,
  • Sku consolidation, etc
• Work closely with other Pentair functions, i.e. engineering and manufacturing, to develop and sustain a full project hopper of total cost opportunities and incorporate value engineering events/activities as part of this process
• Partner with Global Commodity Supply Team to leverage common spend and consolidate suppliers
• Work with sourcing experts across Pentair to help enhance their knowledge and understanding of sourcing principles and applications
• Possess a deep understanding and knowledge base of external commodity markets and potential market impacts and other effects to maximize cost opportunities.
• Monitor and report on current vertical market conditions/trends, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges
• Incorporate and document process improvement opportunities into daily activities
• Work with financial partners to track vertical metrics
• Negotiate and lead contract negotiations as well as monitor contract compliance and optimize contractual obligations
• Ability to manage and mitigate supply risk and ensure ongoing operations within the business
• Lead the global supply team to create and implement the media strategy across Pentair. The primary objective of the team will be to leverage spend, reduce cost and improve supplier delivery and quality

• Advocate for implementation of Pentair wide sourcing initiatives

Job Requirements

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelors Degree is Required (MBA or engineering degree preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years experience in supply management. Preferably a background working for a manufacturer of durable goods. 
• Experience in leading and influencing teams of  professionals across the business
• Understanding lean methodologies and processes
• Experience with VA/VE (Value Analysis/ Value Engineering) and NPD (New Product Development) projects
• Strong business acumen
• Best cost country sourcing and procurement experience
• Experience in developing & managing a vertical supply chain and high quality suppliers
