Job Description
Position Title: Director of Training and Development
Description: This position manages the design, development, implementation and on-going improvements for a Fort Lauderdale based company. This includes designing, developing, implementing and evaluating course curriculum and materials delivered through classroom, eLearning and other web-based training solutions. Programs developed will cover a wide variety of topics including on-boarding, sales and recruitment delivery, leadership and software/systems skills for new and existing employees. This is a relationship-based role that will include building and maintaining relationships with Division leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders, in order to conduct needs analyses, provide updates, and remain current on operational performance challenges and trends.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities: Conduct needs/task assessments to determine training objectives. Create appropriate training solutions based on identified skill gaps and opportunities for performance improvement. Partner with clients to gather information, feedback and approval – acting as the primary point of contact with subject matter experts and management.
Present and implement improvements to training processes, design, and other areas of need.
Develop blended learning solutions, combining classroom instruction and online training. Ensure the most effective learning strategies are used to meet program objectives. Present and/or facilitate advanced-level training programs on a variety of topics, including leadership development, sales process, etc. Mentor classroom trainers, providing leadership and guidance related to classroom instruction technique and the implementation and facilitation of blended learning solutions. Evaluate and ensure program effectiveness through measurement and statistical analysis. Act as liaison with the Information Technology Division in the implementation of eLearning and web-based curricula. Apply basic skills in technology affecting automated learning solutions. Establish necessary links with IT to assure that technical problems are overcome promptly. Work with Human Resources staff to ensure their understanding of various blended learning approaches. Partner with facilitators to develop/update current courses using blended learning solutions.
Daily Responsibilities:
Ø Participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings in order to successfully support Training and Development Division initiatives
Ø Act as a liaison for the Training and Development division in coordinating, scheduling and following up on key meetings and actions items
Ø Build effective inter-office/company relationships
Ø Ability to delegate quickly & effectively
Key Skills Required:
Ø Bachelor’s degree
Ø Instructional design experience that incorporates adult learning principles and results in engaging and relevant programs
Ø Experience in designing and developing eLearning, distance learning, and blended curricula
Ø Experience working with subject matter experts.
Ø Broad understanding of computer and web based training programs
Ø E-learning project management experience
Ø Prior experience in a sales environment preferred
Ø Experience in the staffing industry a plus
Ø Travel required 25%
