Continuing Medical Education (CME), Medical Library, Institutional Review Board, and Medacom. Direct contact with targeted physicians to promote alliance with Santa Rosa Health Care. Acquaints new physicians with Santa Rosa mission and services. Serves as a liaison to resolve service problems that decrease physician satisfaction. Facilitates all aspects of organization and credentialing for 2,000 medical staff and allied health professional staff members. Job Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a health care related field requiredEXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years management experience. Knowledge of continuing medical education and medical library operations preferred.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CMSC) required.EQUIPMENT/SKILLS: Working knowledge of computer credentialing software, hospital information systems, word processing.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position involves a considerable amount of sitting and walking. Works in clean, well-lighted, heated and air conditioned office. Hours may be long and irregular.OTHER:INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Works closely with the Medical Staff, Hospital Staff, senior management, hospital directors, external agencies, and administrative and credentialing agreement customers. Requires excellent oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and management skills, leadership and analytical abilities. Position further requires independent problem solving, decision making and negotiating abilities. Must be able to develop trusting relationships with medical staff and department personnel.KNOWLEDGE: Must demonstrate understanding of the medical staff organization responsibilities and its related bylaws, rules/regulations that govern the organization, JCAHO standards/survey process/scoring guidelines, other regulatory agency requirements/standards: and medico-legal issues and laws relating to medical staff organizations. Exposure to and responsible for handling confidential information with high degree of sensitivity and diplomacy. Professional attitude and appearance at all times.Must be intelligent, well dressed, neat, possess a broad education, tact and diplomacy, a good sense of humor, must be resourceful, industrious, firm yet empathetic, must possess a pervading sense of responsibility of the position and the seriousness of the work; must be an educator as well as a business executive: must have the ability to establish high standards of performance and be able to lead others towards attaining them; must be a problem solver, having sound judgment and capable of acting calmly in pressure situations. Must be mobile with frequent travel to and from health care facilities and physician offices. Must also successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination and the annual screening, each year thereafter as an employeeRequires ongoing flexibility as well as ability to address issues that arise demanding immediate attention and/or continued surveillance with effective results. Must be able to balance these interruptions with routine schedule of ongoing responsibilities and assist staff to do the same. Must be able to work under pressure with deadlinesIMPACT: This individual is responsible for directing, creating and monitoring systems relating to Physician Relations, Medical Staff Services Continuing Medical Education , Medical Library, Institutional Review Board, and Medacom. Further responsibilities include acting In a liaison role between the Hospital Staff, Medical Staff and the Vice President of Medical Affairs. Key goals for this position are improved communication and alliance with physicians, reduced duplication of efforts, streamlining of systems, and increased effectiveness and customer service with the Medical Staff. The span of influence reaches all areas of the Hospital Staff, Medical Staff, Board of Trustees and Senior Management. This person is responsible for coordinating and championing physician relations throughout the organization so that ongoing improved communication and increased customer satisfaction may be realized. Expanded and improved communication and collaboration with the Medical Staff will assist Santa Rosa Health Care in evaluating its effectiveness and efficiency with patient processes and strategic planning.Must also successfully complete the Pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination and the annual screening, each year thereafter as an employee.
