Public Storage, the nation's self-storage leader, is currently recruiting for a District Manager in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. Should you have what it takes, you will join the ranks of the best managers in the industry. You will be responsible for all aspects of the property operations for 10-12 mini-storage facilities. Through direct supervision of property and relief managers, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of your facilities while building and promoting a customer-centric sales culture. You will ensure that all properties achieve their maximum potential in all areas while promoting and ensuring adherence to the high quality standards and integrity essential to the Public Storage name. The District Manager will be responsible to: - Coach and train all field personnel on how to assess customer needs and sell merchandise to fully meet those needs.
- Coach and train property personnel to provide great customer service.
- Recruit, hire, motivate and provide performance feedback for high caliber property teams to promote adequate staffing and recognize individual talents.
- Inspect and audit properties on a routine basis to verify compliance with company standards for operational and financial key measurements, curb appeal, general maintenance and safety.
- Monitor property performance and effect operational changes to achieve District goals.
- Coordinate staffing schedules to effectively manage properties within budgeted parameters.
- Ensure timely implementation and on going adherence to all Divisional and Corporate initiatives for marketing, operational, and business programs.
- Manage expenses and capital expenditures to ensure delivery of all services, optimize spending and manage adherence to company standards.
Job Requirements
All candidates must have: - A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of multi-unit management experience with direct supervision of non-exempt employees.
- If no college degree, the candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of related multi-unit management experience.
- Prior P&L responsibility required
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Proficiency with Word and Excel software programs
- Ability to recruit and motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results
- Prefer candidates that are willing to relocate based on opportunities
