Position Summary
Supervise teachers in innovative special education preschool or school-age setting to ensure best practices in instruction and regulation compliance with monitoring bodies.
Position Accountabilities
- Supervise teachers and teaching assistants to achieve best practices in the classroom.
- Acts as liaison with CPSE District Administrators to ensure that students receive appropriate services.
- Interfaces with parents regarding students’ needs and school policies.
- Conducts staff recruitment, participates in interviews and in decision making regarding hiring.
- Works with Curriculum Dept. to ensure program mandates are implemented.
- Plans and implements professional development instruction for educational staff.
- Assigns educational and clinical staff to ensure necessary services and instruction in program areas.
- Acts as school liaison with college/university academic faculty.
- Markets program to students and interns in related disciplines.
- Develops and distributes periodic reports and recommendations regarding educational policy and program development.
Job Requirements
Position Qualifications
Requirements: MA & NYS certification in ECE or Special Ed (B-2) or (1-6), prior teaching exp, SAS required. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Hours of Work: Typical hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a one-hour unpaid meal break. Hours and days of work are based on program needs.
