Job Description
Job Summary Administers first-aid treatment and transports sick or injured persons to a medical facility by working as a member of an emergency medical team. Determines nature of illness or injury to establish first-aid procedures and performs needed procedures. Provides professional, safe and timely transportation services to all clients and staff members. Essential Job Functions 1. Assesses patient’s need for emergency aid and responds with the appropriate procedures accordingly. 2. Provides safe transportation of patients and staff via ambulance to medical facilities. 3. Conducts daily inspection of vehicle and supplies to ensure compliance with Texas state requirements. 4. Maintains positive relationships with associated agencies and medical personnel. 5. Completes accurate patient run reports. 6. Communicates accurate patient information to appropriate staff. 7. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills § High school diploma or GED equivalent required. § Must be at least 25 years of age. § One or more years of EMT experience required. § Current Texas EMT license issued by Texas Department of Health required. § Current CPR certification and card required. Preferred Education, Experience & Skills § Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred. Physical & Mental Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75pounds Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 75pounds of force Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving WellMed is an equal employment opportunity employer and organization.
