CRS-1 Edge Security
Security design for CRS-1 edge router

• The overall project is to design the configurations for a Cisco CRS-1 router using the IOS-XR operating system to operate as an Internet and/or VPN edge router (PE) in the Client's network using both IPv4 and IPv6.
• This contractor will be primarily responsible for the security aspects of this design, including ACLs, various other filters (VTY, etc), Control Plane Policing, and other security features. CALEA and similar legal/license requirements in other countries will need to be taken into account.
• Current security policies should be implemented and suggestions for change proposed as necessary.

Managed Security Services Analysis

• Need to develop solutions to insert security applications into a large MPLS network. Scope includes edge and core network element design of a platform to support redirection, replication and monitoring of customer traffic. Systems engineering project primarily.
• Contractor will be writing design documents (Field of Use and EDRD configurations) for a number of security oriented applications, creating and executing test plans for those applications and delivering router configurations/scripts for both prototypes and field trials. Will be working closely with developers designing custom features for routers and security applications.
• Additional Desired Experience:  VPLS, Packet Scrubbers, Juniper SDK knowledge, Clouldshield development , CALEA traffic replication

Network Security

• Design and evaluation of security services to be embedded in the network.
• There are a number of potential security services that could be embedded into our network for increased efficiency. These services (and the equipment that provides them) need to be evaluated and concept tests need to be set up in the lab.
• The contractor will be a key player in evaluation and concept testing. If the concepts are successful, the contractor will be involved in design of the production services.
