Job Description
Review and evaluate eQBE workers’ compensation policies for compliance with established guidelines and data quality and reasonableness. Review to include, but not limited to rating, class fit, and loss experience issues. Review and act upon loss control and premium audit reports. Develop and maintain eQBE Agent / Broker relationships. Position is primary contact for both pre- and post-binding questions and endorsement activity for Agent / Broker. Be aware of the annual business plan for the portfolio, to be able to make decisions appropriately Responsible for knowing eQBE competitive position in assigned States and Agent / Broker. Participate in all internal meetings, as required, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverage Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiency Contribute to recording and measurement of insurance risks to ensure accuracy and good practice Establish and maintain relationships with eQBE business partners in an effort to understand and respond to their needs and ongoing concerns Coach assistant underwriter to enhance customer service Participate and provides input in agency/partner management reviews Review insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives, including: Review of rates, terms, conditions, endorsements, loss experience of issued/cancelled policies Ongoing review and management of contract documentation ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines ensuring contribution to the business plan and objectives Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress toward business objectives Make entries, as required, properly and promptly in eQBE systems to ensure accuracy of data, in relation to: Underwriting Policy Audit Aggregate exposures Research and obtain market intelligence in order to enhance organizational profit goals2 + years of Workers’ Compensation underwriting experience with mono-line Work Comp carrier or with multi-line carrier with emphasis on Work Comp Premium Audit or exposure classification expertise preferred Job Related Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of Workers Compensation:
