Job Description

As an ETL Architect, you are a member of PNC's ETL Development organization. You will be based in Brook Park, OH.

The primary role of the ETL (Data Integration) Architect is to lead the strategy and implementation for the data integration solution, specifically in the area of ETL. The ETL architect must have the skills to recommend the ETL technical architecture design for load of an Enterprise Data Warehouse. The technical domain of the ETL Architect includes setting patterns for data extracts, data staging areas, Audit/Balance/Control functions, Error handling, data reconciliation (to G/L) processes, loads to foundation tables and reporting layers, and purge and archive processes.

Responsibilities may also include setting/enforcing Data Integration standards/best practices, Data Integration tools/technologies, security in the Data Integration environment, Data Integration architecture/design/development, capacity planning, performance tuning and administration, use of reusable objects, defining and estimating project proposals, collaboration with other architects to align Data Integration architecture to the business case and overall solution architecture, completion of Data Integration architecture documentation, design guidance to ensure conformity with architecture standards, oversight of QA functions for the Data Integration solution.

    Qualifications
    Informatica ETL Lead / ETL Architect

    The primary role of an ETL Lead Designer / ETL Architect is to lead the strategy, design and implementation of the data integration solution, specifically in the area of ETL. The technical domain of the ETL Architect includes setting patterns for data extracts, data staging areas, Audit/Balance/Control functions, Error handling, data reconciliation processes, loads to warehouse tables and reporting layers, metadata, and purge and archive processes. This may also include responsibilities for Informatica Administration, and infrastructure standards. The technical domain of the ETL Lead Designer is to take the business/data requirements from business/data analysts and translate these requirements into data integration detailed designs and technical specifications needed by the ETL developers.

    Responsibilities may include:
    � Setting/enforcing data Integration standards/best practices for the Enterprise Information Platform.
    � Data Integration design conforming to defined architecture standards
    � Providing Data Warehouse application expertise to assist in the design and implementation of Enterprise Information Platform functionality
    � Ensuring that ETL requirements are understood and documented
    � Being proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating design and scope issues and recommending potential solutions
    � Creation of work packets (diagrams, design specs, unit test scripts) to provide to onshore and offshore developers.
    � Leading the work of developers, ensuring development is progressing per plan and with quality
    � Reviewing and verifying work of developers
    � Managing day-to-day task assignment for a functional team within a project
    � Leading design and development walkthroughs
    � Participating in data model and database design reviews
    � Oversight of quality/testing functions for the data integration solution
    � Ensuring proper security in the data integration environment
    � Performance tuning
    � Definition and use of reusable objects
    � Developing implementation plans for ETL tasks, ensuring coordination with all other groups involved in the change
    � Performance of ETL troubleshooting, suggesting and implementing improvement in the ETL Business Process
    � Defining and estimating project proposals
    � Providing infrastructure support, including standards and best practices in the area of Informatica Administration and environment support
    � Writing high quality ETL code
