Position Purpose

Under direct supervision, assists with or performs minor or routine emergency, maintenance, testing, and start-up technical support on electrical or mechanical equipment, systems and subsystems (including software where applicable).

Environment

This position typically reports to an Operations or Service Supervisor, but may receive day-to-day work direction from a Service Team Leader.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Maintains positive customer relations by communicating well, maintaining a positive attitude, delivering to customer requirements, being timely, efficient, effective and continually looking for ways to improve quality.

2. Performs scheduled, routine preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems (including Automation and Fire and Security) under contract agreement by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems and checking out equipment to ensure it's in satisfactory working order. Completes maintenance, within assigned Labor Load PM hours, in a manner that reduces emergency calls and results in achieving the goal of zero call backs.

3. Responds to emergency service calls as directed. Analyzes, trouble-shoots, repairs, and restores equipment/systems to full operation and recommends revisions when necessary for effectiveness. Alerts the Supervisor to equipment/systems requiring further analysis or potential replacement.

4. Performs routine operational tests, remote systems and devices, and makes minor adjustments as needed to improve the equipment or system's efficiency.

5. Assist with the start-up of new equipment or system installation and makes adjustments as needed to make the system operational. May plan schedules, and lay out basic electrical equipment installations, and assist in the start-up and check-out of new system installations.

6. As directed, provides technical recommendations in support of sales representatives, conducting surveys or inspections. Provides sales leads to the sales groups where such opportunities are identified during the course of service work.

7. Provides customer or customer representatives with instructions on simple system operating procedures.

8. Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance, and performs work assignments in a safe manner and within specified cost limits.

9. Promotes, builds, and maintains good customer relations and assists with contract retention. Keeps supervisor informed of customer needs, requirements, system status and actual or potential customer problems.

10. Maintains company propriety and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner; adheres to and supports Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, INC. policies and procedures including all safety requirements.

11. Uses current material/inventory in a responsible manner, and recommends inventory requirements.

12. Keeps abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology. Attends and completes training programs as requested.

13. Is able to work on-call on rotation basis covering after hours & weekend emergency service calls.

Education and Experience

Vo-Tech Degree in electrical, security or computer systems, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering highly desirable or equivalent industry related experience
