PREVIOUS APPLICANTS MUST RE-APPLY TO FINANCIAL BUSINESS PARTNER - CORPORATE SERVICES Under general supervision, provide integrated enterprise-wide reporting of financial plans. Analyze, evaluate, and maintain an understanding of client's business model/processes to ensure efficiency across business units. Provide consultation to business units regarding products, pricing, and financial arrangements. Interface with business units to provide a profit and loss perspective, facilitate change, and improve financial performance. Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased efficiency, and alignment across functions and broader enterprise strategies. Assist business unit in the implementation of financial strategies and development of annual resource allocation requests to meet continuous improvement goals and forecast business needs. Work with leadership to identify and understand how the BCBSM business model and key business processes impact the business unit to help drive financial strategy, reduce benefit cost trends, increase healthcare value, and capture greater market share and/or product value. Assist in the development of metrics related to new and revised processes and use the data to make recommendations for improvements. Evaluate cost structures and process flows for designated business unit to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Maintain knowledge of company/industry economic and revenue drivers, research and make recommendations for innovation, and anticipate changes in the financial strategy of the business. Evaluate client's administrative spending against external benchmarks and provide recommendations based on best practices. Provide data to assist in the development of client's financial business plan to ensure adherence to budget requirements and corporate capital plan. Provide project/program accounting support. Analyze vendor relationships to ensure accruals are accurate and provide support for re-bids as required. Prepare various financial reports to help drive financial strategy and business unit performance. Other duties may be assigned. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years Finance or related experience required.
- One (1) to three (3) years healthcare or insurance plan experience preferred.
- Certification (CPA, CMA, CFM) preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in team environment and with multiple priorities and certain deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organization skills.
- Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
Department Requirements - - Experience as a hands-on finance partner with corporate business units versus pure financial analysis
- Experience with month end close and detailed accounting work is required
