Job Description

The Corporations of the President and the Presiding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints support the Church and its missions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a world-wide religion with over 13 million members. *This is a contingent position expected to last up to 12 months.  There is possibility for renewal and/or conversion to regular employment*
 
The Financial Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for gathering requirements, design, creation and support of Business Objects universes which support operational and ad-hoc reports for the Finance Department at the Church.  In this position, the engineer will:

• Perform the business analysis role with the Finance department to document reporting requirements from a Data Warehouse perspective.
• Design a dimensional Star Schema data model to support canned reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
• Create and support all elements of a Business Objects universe including dimensions, measures, filters, hierarchies, variables, prompts, etc.
• Design and maintain universe security via both PeopleSoft and Business Objects Designer
• Assess reporting needs of the Finance Department through investigation and analysis of both technical report writers and non-technical users
• Create reports using both Business Objects Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports
• Quickly and accurately respond to Ad-Hoc information requests
• Forecast, analyze data and trends and create reports that highlight areas in need of performance improvement
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial reports in the data warehouse.
• Work with all levels of end users, including executive staff
• Interact with customers as a technical resource to troubleshoot problems with data quality and application access
• Identify and resolve application/infrastructure problems and provide performance tuning services when applicable

Job Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently temple worthy
  • Minimum 3 years development experience with Business Objects
  • Expert SQL skills
  • Expert dimensional data modeling skills
  • Extensive professional experience in data analysis and report design/development
  • Expert presentation/interface skills (demonstrated GUI design)
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and technology
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to interact well in a team environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
