We currently have a direct hire opportunity for a Scientific Formulator to join our client's Product Development group. Our client, located in beautiful Colorado Springs, is a leading Nutraceutical developer and manufacturer of pharmaceutical and nutritional products for over 80 years.
The Scientific Formulator will be responsible for the formulation of new nutraceutical and dietary supplement products in both solid dose and powder form. The individual will also work with the Product Development to perform scale-up and technological transfer of new products to manufacturing.
' Ideal candidate for this position should have a BS degree in Chemistry, MS degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years experience directly related to formulation development, scale-up and manufacturing of dietary and nutraceutical supplement products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ' Responsible for optimization of the existing formulas and their manufacturing process. ' Responsible for troubleshooting products while on the manufacturing floor. ' Peer review of data generated by other formulators, chemists and technicians. ' Conduct product transfers from other facilities. ' Knowledge of the nutritional functions of vitamins, minerals, botanicals and other ingredients used in all types of dietary supplements. ' Participate in the New Product Selection Committee. ' Provide technical support for customer service department including interaction with the customer. ' Work with customer service department to develop product quotes.
REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
' BS degree in Chemistry, MS degree preferred. ' Minimum 5 years experience directly related to formulation development, scale-up and manufacturing of dietary/nutraceutical supplement products. ' Requires good knowledge of GMP related to pharmaceutical manufacturing. ' Handling of heavy equipment, potentially hazardous materials required. ' Flexibility of working hours required. ' Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. ' Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
Compensation and Working Conditions Base salary of $75-85K, based upon qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime. The company offers a competitive benefits package that includes health, 401K, and paid vacation. A relocation package will be available for the qualified individual.
