TEMPORARY HEDIS NURSE ABSTRACTOR NEEDED



Location:   Linthicum, MD HEDIS DATA COLLECTION AND ABSTRACTION: This assignment will encompass medical chart data collection from Practitioner offices and/or abstraction from medical records received by fax/mail for the HEDIS 2010 project. Training will be provided prior to the start of the assignment.

Duties Include:• Schedule practitioner site visit appointments and confirm prior to the date of appointment.• Provide patient lists to practitioner offices if needed.• Locate and review all assigned medical charts, perform abstraction and copy all chart documentation per HEDIS 2010 specifications.• Mail all completed abstracts along with copies of supporting documentation of medical records with the corresponding Control Report for each practitioner office to the assigned  HEDIS Team Member by close of business every Friday.

 


Job Requirements

 

Requirements .Critical Requirements:• Licensed RN or LPN with 3 years nursing experience (license does not need to be in the state in which they are working)• Knowledge of HEDIS is strongly preferred• Ability to read and interpret medical records• Professional demeanor and good work ethic• Conscientious problem solver, willing to learn, take personal pride in their work performance/accuracy• Excellent verbal communication skills – clear, concise and appropriate• Must have access to a fax machine and computer• Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Email is preferred• Proven organizational and time management skills• Must have reliable transportation and willing and able to drive within their assigned geographic area (approx. 150 miles)• Must be able to lift 25 lbs• Must dress in business casual attire• Must commit to duration of the project – cannot take another job elsewhere and/or abandon the assignment• Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure• Must possess an awareness of and the ability to meet deadlines• Must keep all information collected in a safe, organized and confidential manner• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 – 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday. Expenses: Expected Travel Area: 100 mile radius (Jacksonville Metroplex area) There will be reimbursable expenses for Tolls, parking fees and mileage.

Training Dates (Start and End Dates): Training-January 26, 27 & 28, 2010 & February 1, 2010• Location of Training Telephonic training. Nurse will be given Toll Free# to call in from home. They will need to have access to their computer during the training. MUST UTILIZE A MUTE BUTTON on their phone.•  Three 5 hour days; 9:00 – 2:00 pm CT and one 3 hour day 9:00 – 12:00pm CT•
