Robert Half Finance & Accounting has teamed up with a Growing Firm in North Dallas looking to hire a Technical Accounting Manager. The primary responsibility of the Technical Accounting Manager is the identification, research and resolution of key accounting issues impacting the company by understanding new or contemplated transactions and monitoring current developments of various accounting standard setting bodies to remain current on technical accounting matters and newly released and effective accounting guidance. Responsibilities for the Technical Accounting Manager will include:
Manage the technical accounting research function for new accounting pronouncements and new transactions, including ensuring that appropriate GAAP literature is applied, research is properly documented and conclusions are appropriate Research and evaluate complex GAAP and SEC reporting pronouncements, make recommendations for appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions, document conclusions in technical accounting memorandums and assist departmental personnel with the implementation of accounting for new transactions Review and analyze new GAAP and SEC reporting pronouncements and assess the impact on the Company's financial statements and disclosures Manage the technical accounting research function for existing, applicable GAAP and SEC pronouncements and ensure routine documentation is completed in a timely manner and properly maintained Monitor emerging GAAP and SEC reporting pronouncements and proactively communicate with management on developments that could potentially impact the Company Assist the Management with the review of the Company's SEC compliance filings such as forms 10-K and 10-Q Assist the Management with coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors Assist the Management with monitoring developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Undertake and manage special projects as requested
Ideal candidate will have: Bachelors in Accounting CPA Required 5+ years technical accounting research experience required Big 4 experience preferred
