RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hardware Analyst responsible for all layout, equipment installation, and hardware/channel configuration.
Coordinate with all hardware vendors and users to ensure timely modifications for problem areas.
Provide on-going technical assistance for all hardware troubleshooting and power outages.
Conduct site evaluations, site planning including a complete implementation plan (environmental specifications, equipment layout, and support areas); installation/deinstallation and coordination of hardware vendors, electricians, building personnel, and technical consulting for problem areas and modifications.
Responsible for hardware/channel configuration including selecting and matching hardware components and features; specifying channel interface cabling priority schemed, addressing, switching and backup arrangement from terminal through front-end to mainframe; optimizing floor plans and configuration to accommodate equipment upgrades.
Analyze daily reports concerning hardware activity, monitor hardware features and act as a liaison with manufacturers to resolve problems.
Troubleshoot system failures to determine if failure is of a software or hardware origin.
Creating, updating and maintaining complete documentation of the equipment using excel and word for changes to existing documentation and newly created documentation.
Server installs a) Server Hardware & Racks i) Receive racks and server-related assets upon arrival and secure in appropriate locations. ii) Remove racks and server-related assets from packaging and inventory per ACS procedures. iii) Assemble hardware and ready for installation. iv) Report broken/damaged assets to vendor(s) and ACS using defined procedures v) Coordinate with facilities, network, server engineering teams to ensure readiness for asset installation. vi) Install hardware components per ACS guidelines.
Manage Server and Storage Hardware Break Fix b) Support and maintain server, storage and hardware equipment and components. c) Determine root cause of hardware problems (or rule out hardware problems). d) Take action to resolve hardware problems via defined Hardware Break Fix process for in scope hardware.
